Bayreuth's Brünnhilde to perform with Placido Domingo
In her sixth run of the "Walküre" production since the premiere in 2013 Catherine Foster will sing the Brünnhilde in the 3 shows this Summer at the Bayreuth Festival.
Conducted by one of the world's greatest tenors, Placido Domingo, this will be a highlight in the singer's calender. The performances will be on July 31, Aug 18 and 29.
The prestigious cast includes Stephen Gould as Siegmund, John Lundgren and Greer Grimsley as Wotan, Anja Kampe as Sieglinde. The production was directed by Frank Castorf, one of Germany's most famous and controversial directors and his first work at the Bayreuth Festival.
For Placido Domingo it will be the very first time he is conducting this masterpiece from Richard Wagner at the Bayreuth Festival.
